Go ride a SKATEBOARD!! & Let's make a record!!!

Hey,

Been real busy of late, so has been a bit between posts.

Tuesday was Go Skateboarding Day. Didn't get to skate much myself as I was working at a skatepark all day!! Bit of transport skateboarding was all.

Here's the new painting. Probably one of the most fun and expressive things to do on a skateboard.
Make some NOISE!!!

Here's the rough for the next. Get a radical notion...

The Happy Lonesome are making a record on the weekend. Can not wait. Expect to see record cover art progress in the upcoming weeks. It'll be based around this guy. A poster I did a few years ago, but haven't really got to use that much.

One idea. Rough. Hopefully have some more in a week or two. Until then!

skateboards & guitars plus an exhibition!

Howdy,
Sorry again, it's been a while....
Good news, the 'Let There Be Guitar' exhibition IS gunna happen! November, should have it booked really soon.

SKATEBOARDING
I 've been riding skateboards for some time on & off for quite a while. Skateboarding has been apart of my life for a long time. Got my first skateboard in 1978, like most kids a plastic banana board (blue with red see through wheels). I have had a skateboard in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s & still skate now 2016. Skateboarding is a creative outlet. Pretty much everything I love I can trace back to skateboarding in some way. Music, art & friends.

 Me, 1990.

Me Now. Rock'n'Roll.

I'm currently working on some skate related work. Here's the latest...

Hi Ho Silver! (I was really into to Lone Ranger as a little kid, not a great photo sorry.)

And some from the last few of years or so...

Somedays

Judo Bear

Pool Wabbit

Tribute to the full cut Protec helmet & two of the greats with signature maneuvers. Gonz, stalelfish  & Neil Blender lien air. Painted another Protec last year, yet to get a worthy photo, got another on the way.

And a rough for the next one....

More in the next week or so....
Hopefully a date for the exhibition really soon......

Summertime King Of The Surf

Hey,

Again, been a while. Kept on sayin' all year that I'm gunna get more regular with postin' on this thing again, but another 5 weeks roll by and nothin'....

Have been drawin' and paintin' though.

Here's some of it. There's other stuff to come. Hopefully get a couple more paintings in by years end.
'Let There Be Guitar' Exhibition and book next year.

Here's a Phantom Hitch Hikers Poster.

Here's a design I did for a Found Sound T Shirt.

And the LAST of the 'Let There Be Guitar' Series...The King of Surf! Dick Dale.

Rough.

Detail.

the whole thang.

Hopefully post some more stuff next week. workin' on a skateboardin' series. might as well post a bunch of that.
til then.

been a while hey? here's some cover art and stuff....

Hey,

Been quite a bit since I posted last...Last post I said I'd get it back to doin' somethin' on here every week...Damn. Got a hella lotta work done since too. Bummer is I ain't got a decent size scanner & the photos I'd take of my work and posted kinda sucked & didn't do real justice to the paintings...ah well. I'll be getting a bunch of stuff scanned in the next week. Here's some stuff I managed to scan on our A4 scanner.

Some roughs for the new Michael Plater single.

and the selected work.

And the finished painting...

Here's some more Happy Lonesome conceptual stuff I'm still working on. Record out next year? Maybe...Hopefully!!!! Sorry, didn't scan that great....

Also, been working on some cover art for a book. The series of paintings (Let There Be Guitar-remember?) I started over 20 odd months ago is an ongoing thing. I've decided to make a book of this body of work. The exhibition is still in the works, though probably won't take place this year as planned. 2016 looks the goods. I think I still have one more painting left. A few weeks ago I was listening to a bunch of surf/hotrod guitar stuff from the late 50s/early 60s. There is a gaping hole in that body of work I've done without a Hank B. Marvin, a Dick Dale, a Link Wray or a Duane Eddy in there somewhere...

Book Cover.

and some gee-tars, name em all win a prize...
