Not Fade Away

Hey,

Just finished Buddy painting yesty. Been Listenin' to so much Buddy Holly in the last week...Timeless. Can't believe his output until his tragic young passing at 22. I could live on a steady diet of 50s Rock'n'Roll and never have to listen to anything else.

Next, of course is the Sister Rosetta Tharpe painting, I'll post the sketch this time next week. Then I reckon portrait paintings of Johnny Ramone and Chrissie Hynde, followed lastly by a tribute painting to the great Fender Telecaster guitar heros: James Burton, Clarence White, Jesse Ed Davis and Steve Cropper.

Here's some o dat Tele action.

Booker T and the MGs, Live in Norway. 'Green Onions'.

Buddy

Hey,

Sorry, wanted to post this last week as promised, but was a little busy and distracted... Have started the painting and should have it finished by the end of the week.

As I've stated in previous posts, I've only gotta a few paintings left to finish the whole thing, then the exhibition, 'Let There Be Guitar'. Next up Sister Rosetta Tharpe with her white SG.

Such a great and influential guitar player.

This was filmed in Manchester, 1964. You can really hear the influence she had on Rock'n'Roll. Chuck must've really dug her.
